Canada and Quebec select their immigrants based on their ability to integrate the economic life of the host society. There are four main programs of economic immigration:

Skilled workers : This program admits the greatest number of economic immigrants in Canada. Admission criteria are based on education, age, linguistic abilities in Canada’s official languages (English and French), work experience, the presence of children and the characteristics of your accompanying spouse if applicable.

Self-Employed workers : This program is addressed to workers wishing to create their own job in Canada. The selection criteria vary greatly depending on whether you are destined to the province of Quebec or to the rest of Canada.

Entrepreneurs : This program is for candidates who have more than two years of business experience and who have a net worth
of at least CAD 300,000$.

Investors : This program is for candidates who have a net worth of at least CAD 1,600,000$ and who have a minimum of two years of management experience. The immigrant investor will have to invest CAD 800,000$ over a 5 year period, after which the investment is reimbursed… without interest.
